This committee is the industry forum for all activities that relate to both transit and intelligent transportation systems. 

Through a precedent-setting cooperative agreement, ITS America and APTA co-sponsor this committee making it the premier focal point for all ITS activities.

The committee and its subcommittees sponsor activities in which transit properties, manufacturers, vendors, and consultants can exchange information and ideas in a variety of settings. 

The two subcommittees, Rail and Intelligent Vehicle Initiative (IVI), reflect the committee's quick response to changing industry needs. 

The newly-formed Signal Priority Task Force represents a cooperative effort between the ITS Public Transit Forum and the Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) Committee.
