About Leadership APTA
Leadership APTA is the American Public Transportation Association’s flagship professional development program designed to develop and support the next generation of leaders of APTA and the public transportation industry.
Each year, the Leadership APTA Committee selects 25 individuals from among APTA member applicants to participate in a year-long program that includes intensive workshops, conferences, class leader-ship projects, teleconferences, online meetings, and web-based events.
Since the first Leadership APTA class, over 275 transit industry professionals and APTA members graduated from this program, many of whom have now assumed senior and executive leadership roles within APTA and in the public and private sectors of the transit industry.

Leadership Presentations and Papers from Previous Classes
As part of the program, Leadership APTA class members produce presentations and papers on a range of topics. These projects include interviews with industry leaders, related research, and recommendations for the industry about their topics.
